Do human beings have free will?
- If you answer “YES,” do the following:
- Explain whether you are a libertarian or a compatibilist.
- Are you views about free will affected by your views about the mind-body problem? Explain.
- Offer your critique(s) of determinism.
- Respond to Sartre’s claims about anguish, forlornness, and despair. Are these worth the freedom you believe you have?
- If you answer “NO,” do the following:
- Explain whether you are a hard or soft determinist.
- Are you views about free will affected by your views about the mind-body problem? Explain.
- Offer your critique(s) of libertarianism. If you are a hard determinist, what is your critique of compatibilism?
- Respond to Sartre’s claims about bad faith and flight. Are you simply trying to flee from your freedom?

- Write for the audience not just for me to grade. Think of terms and ideas to make the reader come to the same conclusion as you.
- State your views clearly, explain why is this the correct answer.
- Do philosophical demands such as definitions, examples etc.
- Lastly answer the prompt question for the people. Make the people understand why is this the right answer. This not based on opinion. Provide the reader with direct and evidence examples from the chapter.

The biggest issue here is the absence of any discussion beyond the argument from design. Do you, for example, disagree with fideism or the cosmological argument? Do you like anything about the ontological argument?
The other main issue is structure. It minimally handles the requirements of the exam, like a checklist. Thus, it does not read like an essay.
